Benjamin Michael Tindall Born May 20, 2007 at 4:51am Weight: 9lbs 5oz Length: 20" 23 hours of labor, followed by 3 hours of hard pushing, followed by a C-Section...26 hours of total labor plus major abdominal surgery - Benjamin was turned wrong, and was stubborn!

Janene went into labor at 3am on Saturday morning (we think it was the Chinese food that finally pushed her over the edge. Peking Duck in Snohomish has pretty decent food and prices, for those who may care...). We spent the early labor walking the gardens of our cul-d-sac (thanks, ladies!), and then we actually were able to sleep for a couple of hours off and on. We got up, wandered the house a bit, then headed to Top Foods to grab some food and walk around some. By this point in time, Janene's contractions were getting much stronger and longer; by the time we left Top Foods we were on our way to the hospital. Janene was admitted around 3:30 (we arrived at Triage about 2:30). After 16 hours of labor, Janene finally opted for an epidural, which then allowed her to rest and reserve her strength. Dr. Trotter broke her water around 10pm, and by midnight she was fully dialated. She started pushing on every contraction (2-3 minute intervals) around 1pm, and at 4pm Dr. Trotter consulted Dr. Smith, and together they decided that this baby was not coming out this way. A c-section was scheduled, and by 4:51am Benjamin was brought into this world. We spent Sunday through Wednesday evening in the hospital, coming home late evening on Wednesday. Things here are good, and about what you'd expect....
